Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has arrived in Baku on a state visit at the invitation of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

At Heydar Aliyev International Airport, the Uzbek leader was welcomed with an official ceremony by Azerbaijan’s First Deputy Prime Minister Yaqub Eyyubov and other high-ranking officials. As a sign of respect for the distinguished guest, the national flags of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan were raised, and an honor guard was lined up.

According to the visit’s agenda, the second meeting of the High-Level Intergovernmental Council will be held today in the Azerbaijani capital, along with other high-level events aimed at further strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries.
